Hearing Health Services
Our team at Professional Hearing Associates is here for all your hearing needs. We offer comprehensive hearing health services to ensure your optimal hearing health.
If you’ve been struggling to hear or have noticed changes in your hearing, the first step is to call for an appointment for a comprehensive hearing evaluation. Our hearing evaluation begins with an examination of your ears using a video otoscope for signs of injury or earwax buildup that could prevent you from hearing clearly. You will be able to see what your ear canal looks like as well. We utilize Tympanometry to ensure there are no current middle ear pathologies; such as middle ear effusion (fluid), perforations, or ossicular discontinuity. During our comprehensive hearing evaluations, a complete analysis of Speech and Word Understanding and Recognition capabilities is also conducted. We utilize the latest equipment to measure your ability to hear high and low sounds at different volumes and frequencies. The results from your hearing test will be charted on an audiogram. We’ll sit down with you to discuss your results. If a hearing loss is detected, we’ll go over hearing solutions with you.
At Professional Hearing Associates, Dr. Hopper and Dr. Cramer will help you find the perfect device that will match your hearing needs and lifestyle, and provide you with effortless hearing in every listening environment. When it comes to hearing aids, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We use best practices to determine the optimal hearing solutions for your particular hearing needs. We partner with leading manufacturers to bring you advanced, state-of-the-art hearing solutions.
Hearing Aid Fitting
Once you’ve selected the perfect hearing aids, the next step is the fitting. Not only does the physical fit need to be perfect to provide the best seal and optimal sound quality, the programs also need to be calibrated to your exact hearing needs. Based on results from your hearing test, we’ll program your hearing aids to ensure proper amplification. Before you go home with your new devices, we’ll walk you through the basics of hearing aid care and maintenance. Most of the technology today is so fine tuned to your individual lifestyle, you may not find yourself needing to make any adjustments yourself. This makes it very easy for you the patient to adjust to your new hearing aids. Follow up appointments are used over the next month to ensure your success.
Have you been struggling with tinnitus, that annoying ringing or buzzing in your ears? We offer relief for this frustrating condition. We can fit you with hearing aids equipped with advanced tinnitus therapy programs. Using the best in sound masking therapy, these programs can be calibrated to your exact listening needs, help retrain your brain to focus on other sounds, and push the tinnitus sounds into the background.
Hearing Aid Repair
Hearing aids can be damaged through exposure to moisture, sweat, earwax, dust, and debris. Like any electronic device, they experience some wear and tear from normal use, and certain components will need to be cleaned or replaced from time to time. Have you noticed problems with your hearing aids? At Professional Hearing Associates, our team can service and repair your hearing aids. If you’ve encountered difficulty hearing, a change in sound output, or a malfunctioning program, we’ll have your hearing aids repaired in no time.
Assistive Listening Devices
At Professional Hearing Associates, we understand that everyone has different hearing needs, and you may need more than just a hearing aid to help you overcome a challenging listening environment. An assistive listening device can help you hear clearly in one-on-one conversations, in a boardroom meeting, or even in an auditorium or amphitheater. Along with assistive listening devices, we have a wide selection of hearing accessories that will help you hear all the sounds around you, no matter where you are.
Impacted cerumen, or a blockage of earwax, may cause tinnitus and discomfort in the ear. It can also affect your hearing and make sounds appear muffled. Never try to remove earwax with a cotton swab, since this could push the earwax further into your ear and lead to worse blockage. We can show you the inside of your earcanal if you have blockage and then carefully remove this in the office. If you have impacted earwax that has noticeably affected your hearing abilities, visit us at Professional Hearing Associates to have it professionally removed by one of our hearing Doctors.
Do you struggle with your balance? Do you experience dizziness or vertigo? At Professional Hearing Associates, we perform VNG balance testing to learn more about your balance disorder. We’ll perform balance tests to determine the cause of your dizziness and/or balance issues, and we’ll recommend the best treatment options for your unique needs.
